Artist Statement

I am a native Texan who grew up fossil hunting with my grandparents. I collected gem and minerals around the United States from family travels. These found treasures became my first adornments that I would make into unique wearable art for myself and loved ones. I received a Bachelors of Science in Biology from Christian Brothers University in Memphis, TN.  With a very diverse career portfolio, I found I was most happy when I was creating. Fate and love brought me to NYC where I fulfilled my dreams of studying metalwork and jewelry design.  I graduated from the Fashion Institute of Technology with a degree in Jewelry Design in 2010.

My work incorporates a variety of metals, stones, enamel, and alternative materials and is ever evolving.  My inspiration comes from my biology background, my love for midcentury design and references to vintage costume jewelry. Many of my designs come from childhood memories with emphasis on color, movement, and texture while incorporating a sense of playfulness.

I currently work at Silver Street Studios, Studio#320 where I design limited series work and commission work.
